At KitchenQ, our goal is to improve the quality of life for people living with dysphagia (difficulty swallowing).

We know you may feel you have limited food choices, or you may be losing weight because you don’t like the unappetizing food being offered to you. You may be feeling isolated, embarrassed or depressed because you can’t eat the same food as everyone else, or maybe you’ve stopped socializing with friends.

Options that are currently available include commercially processed foods that come in a can or frozen foods that can be delivered to you. There’s even a 3-D printer that can spit out an entire pureed meal! These might be convenient options, however, they’re certainly not desirable or appetizing, especially for people who are concerned about eating healthy, fresh food that tastes good.
That’s where KitchenQ comes in.

Our recipes feature fresh ingredients, real food! They are quick and easy to prepare with many gluten-free and dairy-free options. Our recipes taste great and appeal to the senses with bright colors, attractive shapes and enticing aromas. We also emphasize using local, seasonal and organic foods as much as possible.

We can teach you how to create great-tasting, healthy and appetizing foods at home. Together we create and then prepare a customized menu based on your preferences and dietary needs. Consultations are available online at your convenience, or in person if you live in the Orange County, CA area.

Workshops at your facility are also available.

KitchenQ was founded by Maria Quici, MS, CCC-SLP, a Speech-Language Pathologist. She is the author of Think Outside the Blender: Great-Tasting and Healthy Recipes for Dysphagia Diets, which is available on Amazon.com. She has over 20 years experience working in the hospital setting, evaluating and treating people with dysphagia. She enjoys solving pureed food-related problems and is available to help with your dysphagia diet needs.
